Basic Information The centerpiece of this brooch is an 11.20-carat cushion modified-cut ruby. Certified by AGL (American Gemological Laboratories) and SSEF (Swiss Gemmological Institute), it is an unheated Pigeon Blood Red ruby originating from Myanmar. It boasts a vivid, intense color with extremely high saturation, showcasing the radiant charm of a top-tier ruby. Inlay Craftsmanship The brooch is adorned with rectangular and trapezoidal emeralds, French-cut, old-cut, and marquise-cut diamonds, as well as natural pearls. It is set in platinum and 18K yellow gold. With its exquisite overall design, the various gemstones complement each other perfectly, highlighting an elegant and noble temperament. Historical Background This brooch was once gifted to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts by the founding family of DuPont. Later, it was auctioned at Christie’s New York Autumn Auction in 2019.
